When Danica Patrick met the Obamas…

When Danica Patrick met the Obamas, a picture of her trip to the White House was tweeted.

It’s odd timing perhaps given today’s date of April 1, and the litany of joke releases that populate the Internet as a result, but Patrick did offer photographic proof of her on the White House lawn for the Easter Egg roll in Washington, D.C. on her Twitter page.

“Just met the whole Obama family including their dog Bo!” Patrick tweeted early Monday.

NASCAR, like all major series, had off this past weekend for Easter. So in lieu of a simple break and staying out of the spotlight, it appears Patrick took the opportunity to visit the nation’s most iconic house.

Since her rapid start to the year with pole position and an eighth place finish in the Daytona 500, Patrick’s results have cooled off. In the last four races, her best qualifying effort has been only 37th with a best finish of 26th, last race at Auto Club Speedway.

Sponsor GoDaddy entered victory lane in IndyCar a little more than a week ago with James Hinchcliffe of Andretti Autosport on the streets of St. Petersburg.

I’m not at all surprised. She never had what it takes to match the hype. In regards to qualifying in particular, she always liked it in the rear in IndyCar.

Sure is a smokin hot little thing, though.

Patrick is another good race car driver but a she is also a rookie to NASCAR. She is racing against the best NASCAR drivers in the world, many with decades of experience in this form of auto racing. Qualifying on the pole at Daytona two years in a row – as a rookie – and leading laps and finishing 8th in Cup at Daytona tells you this woman can drive and isn’t afraid to let it all hang out.

Her lack of experience on the shorter tracks is going to hurt her for years. It’s not a lack of ability, its a lack of experience. We see with Montoya, Gordon, Stewart, Speed and even with Hornish that even the best of the best do not do well in NASCAR all the time.

As far as the hype that is the media not Patrick. because she is an attractive woman achieving success in a sport perceived as a “man’s sport’, she gets a lot of media coverage. She in fact is a fan favorite no matter what series she races in and she’s good for the sport. Those who have raced against her and worked with her say she is very competent and has the potential to run up front more often when she gets some real experience. Hating on the girl for being hot, popular and capable is ignorant. She isn’t writing the hype so blame those who are if it bothers you.

BTW, to illustrate what A-Holes the TMZ crew is, they filmed Patrick trying to do a little sight seeing in DC over Easter and they had the audacity to ask here if it’s more difficult for a woman race car driver “when she has go to the bathroom” than a male driver. What a bunch of worthless scumbags.

All racers wear Depends, right? So nobody’s worried about pee breaks during a race. Got a laugh at Tagliani during the St. Pete grid run by Robin Miller. “Been a while since I had to use the Porta Potty at the rear of the field.” Meaning he needed to qualify better.
