Upcoming American single-seater racer Conor Daly will perform a straight-line aerodynamic test for Force India on Wednesday.

Daly, 21, will be having his third run in a Formula One car. Teams are limited to no more than four one-day tests of this kind during a season.

“These sessions are vital data gathering times for F1 teams and I’m glad to be able to assist,” said Daly. “F1 cars are very complex machines and the day provides me with a great opportunity to learn many of the systems.”

He will have a seat fitting with the Silverstone-based team today and prepare for the test in their simulator on Tuesday.

Daly, the son of former F1 and IndyCar racer Derek Daly, is preparing for his third season in junior single-seater category GP3 which begins in Spain next week. He finished sixth in the series last year, scoring a win at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Already this year he has made a one-off appearance in the more senior GP2 category. He has also tested an IndyCar in preparation for an appearance at the Indianapolis 500 for Foyt.

During the winter off-season Daly won the MRF Challenge series in India. He won the Star Mazda category in 2010.
