Iowa Speedway CEO Doug Fritz has resigned his post and will seek another opportunity, according to the Des Moines Register.

The Register also reported that two Speedway officials said the track was behind on some payments to vendors.

Iowa Speedway has hosted a pair of NASCAR Nationwide and a pair of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races apiece, as well as its traditional June date for the IZOD IndyCar Series.

Can’t say I’m surprised. It was fine when they had a Truck weekend, Nationwide weekend and an IndyCar weekend then the second Nationwide race came and attendance went down then a second truck race hut the gate as well. They need to get back down to three major weekends maybe a Nationwide/Arca in May, Truck/USAC/IndyCar in June and a Truck/Nationwide in September

I’m sure the France Family or a friend/business partner of theirs will buy it up…drop a Martinsville race in Sprint cup and add this track!
