The flood and outpouring of support for Sean Edwards, who was killed while in the passenger’s seat in an accident in Australia Tuesday, has already been massive.

Edwards competed in three championships this season: the American Le Mans Series and two Porsche series, Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. He was one of the biggest stars and most talented drivers in all those series; from a domestic standpoint, those paying attention to the ALMS’ GTC class will have recognized his immense skills.

“Our thoughts are with his family and we want to express our deepest condolences to his relatives,” Hartmut Kristen, Head of Motorsport at Porsche, said in a statement.

As you’ll see below, Edwards’ impact was not just limited to sports car racing. Tweets from around the world of motorsports have also come in.

We wish, once again, we didn’t need to compile all these. All of us in the NBC Sports MotorSportsTalk family express our condolences.
