NHRA Funny Car champion John Force stars in Twitter takeover

Dec 13, 2013, 6:00 PM EDT

John Force AP

John Force is a legend. The now-16-time NHRA Funny Car champion is as well known for how fast and memorable his quotes are, besides his day job of wheeling a 320-plus mph Ford Mustang Funny Car down a drag strip in four seconds.

So when you put Force together with Twitter, you get Force wisdom in 140 characters or less.

As part of the NHRA’s #ChampionChat series, Force took over the @JFR_Racing Twitter account during the Performance Racing Industry trade show on Thursday in Indianapolis. What was meant to be a 30-minute session, naturally, turned into two hours worth of tweeting with fans.

Some of the highlights:

An intro…

On whether he loves his family or championships more…

On how to get into racing…

And how it kept going…

The full archive can be found by perusing the @JFR_Racing feed.
