Dale Jr. lands SI cover after 2nd Daytona 500 win

Feb 26, 2014, 8:01 PM EDT

We’re betting Jr. Nation will be on the lookout for the next issue of Sports Illustrated.

Two-time Daytona 500 champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. has landed a regional cover spot on the March 3 edition of the famed magazine.

Earnhardt broke a 55-race winless streak on Sunday night in The Great American Race at Daytona International Speedway.

You can be assured that at least some among his horde of fans will have frames ready for this:

Not a bad shot at all.

I’m still finishing that crow pie I’ve been eating since Dale Jr. did everything right at the end of the Daytona 500 to run away with the win.

You know, that was a hell of a race and a hell of a great win Dale and that’s from a guy that said two years ago you should retire.

    Glad I was totally wrong.

Many kudos to the guys behind you that raced you clean.

They did that because you have raced them clean all your career.

What comes around goes around Dale-Congrats.-you and the crew earned it big time.
