IMSA issues statement on passing of William Clay Ford

One day after Ford Motor Company director emeritus William Clay Ford passed away from pneumonia at the age of 88, IMSA has released the following statement this afternoon on his loss:

“All of us at IMSA send our thoughts and prayers to the Ford family on the passing of William Clay Ford Sr.,” said Ed Bennett, IMSA Chief Executive Officer. “He was a great leader in the automotive industry who not only carried on the Ford family legacy but took it to new heights. He will truly be missed but the significant results of his work and leadership will remain with us.”

Ford provides Ecoboost engines for the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and Michael Shank Racing teams in IMSA’s top-tier TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
