Rendering of a Ferrari LMP1 car only stirs the senses

Jun 25, 2014, 9:51 AM EDT

Whether Ferrari has the time, resources or personnel to create an LMP1 program at Le Mans and by extension, the FIA World Endurance Championship, remains to be seen.

But in the interim, one thing we can do is dream about the prospect. And a rendering of a potential Ferrari LMP1 chassis just makes me giddy.

Daniele Pelligra, on the Italian Motori Online website, has penned three renderings of what has been termed the “Cordero LMP1 concept.”

Here’s the front-on shot and the other two can be found on that website.

I’m a WEC fan and the more the merrier, but Ferrari really need to figure out how to make a half-way competitive F1 car before they start looking at side projects.

Yeah agreed Ferrari has their hands full with F1 for now. It would be nice if they have the resources some day to compete in both series at the front but it would be silly to do a half-assed program in both series just for the sake of being present.

Every bit as tempting as their never-raced Indy Car…
