Biffle: New sponsor for No. 16 to be announced “in a few weeks”

Aug 12, 2014, 9:45 PM EDT

As we told you Tuesday morning, longtime Roush Fenway Racing and Greg Biffle backer 3M is heading to Hendrick Motorsports to become a primary sponsor for Jeff Gordon over the next three seasons.

It’s certainly not an ideal situation for the RFR camp, which is also set to lose the services of Carl Edwards at the end of this season. But it looks like we won’t have to fret too much over the situation, as Biffle has tweeted the following this evening:

Roush Fenway Racing president Steve Newmark also tweeted earlier today that the team looks forward to revealing the new sponsors for the No. 16 car:

As for the other RFR competitors, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will take over the Fastenal sponsorship from the outgoing Edwards and also retain backing from Zest. Trevor Bayne will bring his current Nationwide Series sponsor, Advocare, up with him as he returns to Cup racing full-time.

I wonder if Aflac is going to move to Biffle or leave Roush to stay with Carl? I know they only do a few races a year these days but I’m still curious.

It’s probably anyone who ever sponsored Tony Stewart. I am so pissed at him (Tony Stewart), that I cannot see straight. “F” you Tony Stewart!!!!!

All though people are pissed at tony right now its hard to say if any sponsors leave him at this moment. Once all the facts come out then and only then will we see if any leave . Afflac would be a fit for greg but i can be anyone knowing jack. We will see in the future.
