Gene Haas has confirmed his new Formula One team will switch names from Haas Formula to Haas F1 Team, among a series of updates revealed Tuesday.

The team launched a new website (www.haasf1team.com), Facebook and Twitter page.

The team has also sent out its first official tweet regarding its planned debut in 2016:

A technical partnership with Ferrari hasn’t been officially announced, but Haas Automation was announced as a Ferrari sponsor earlier this year.

There’s still plenty of details to be ironed out from here, but these are all promising signs as the team ramps up before its entry onto the grid.

I hope they have been working overtime to get their infrastructure set up and the millions of other details like a few hundred experienced F1 engineers in-house. This is quite a daunting task to design and construct a completely new F1 car from scratch with people who have little to no F1 experience.

    Best of luck.

And that is why there should be customer cars in F1 !
Everyone shoots off about cost and then the best way to reduce it is
    shunned.
Gee what happened to the days of privateers ?

The objective should not be to reduce costs in F1. If anything, the opposite should be true. It’s Formula *ONE* not Indycar. F1 is becoming enough of a spec series already. Indycar is karting compared to F1.
